What's the difference between a Foundation Pass and an Indy Parks pass?
Foundation Pass vs. Indy Parks Pass
There two key differences between a Foundation Pass and an Indy Parks pass:
1. Where the money goes: with a standard Indy Parks Pass (no sticker), the money is distributed between Indianapolis’s 200+ parks. With a Foundation pass around 70% of your money goes to fill in funding gaps and toward park projects. Foundation passes support the park!
2. A Foundation pass gives the holder membership in the Foundation, meaning they have access to discounts, member events, newsletters and more.
Does this pass get me into all Indy Parks?
Yes. Your Foundation pass is literally an Indy Parks pass. The Foundation buys passes from Indy Parks and resells them to the public to raise funds for Eagle Creekl Park.
With that said, Eagle Creek Park is the only park with a gate fee, so it is not needed at any other park.
What if I already have an Eagle Creek Park gate pass?
If you already have an Eagle Creek Park Pass (though Indy Parks), you can access Eagle Creek Park from Jan 1 – Dec 31st for the year you purchased the pass.
Holders of Indy Parks passes should Consider purchasing a Foundation Membership. Your $35 Membership dues support the park and you gain access to discounts, member newsletters and member events.
Will my pass get me into Indiana's State Parks?
No. Eagle Creek Park is a city park operated by the city of Indianapolis’s parks department (Indy Parks). So if you want to visit state parks that require a gate fee, this pass will not grant access.
Why buy a Foundation Membership instead of a Foundation Pass?
Foundation membership is ideal for folks who
1. Already have an Indy Parks pass, but would like , especially those who obtained their pass using a Verteran’s discount, senior discount
2. Want to support Eagle Creek Park directly but may not visit the park enough to purchase a pass
3. Want to enjoy the perks of Foundation membership (events, newsletters, discounts).
Do I need to present my pass at the gate to gain entry to the Park??
Yes. The Park’s gate staff will scan your pass each time you enter the Park. Per Indy Parks policy the gate staff will not look you up in the system to check for your pass.
What if I loose my Eagle Creek Park annual pass?
Whether you’ve lost an Indy Park Pass or a Foundation pass, the Park can replace it at no cost to you. Your lost card will be marked as “lost” in the system and will no longer grant access to the park if you happen to find it.
To get a replacement card, let the gate staff or Foundation Staff (ecpf@eaglecreekpark.org) know you need a replacement pass.
