WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

Shortly after the park opened it became apparent that municipal funding for Eagle Creek Park would not be sufficient in order for this remarkable natural resource to meet its full potential.

That’s when members of the Eagle Creek Park Advisory Committee recognized the need for a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to help raise money for unfunded park projects, and formed the Eagle Creek Park Foundation.

The Foundation’s mission is to promote, preserve, protect, and enhance Eagle Creek Park.

With your support, we provide financial and volunteer resources above and beyond limited city funding to support essential park projects and programs.

Bring Mac Back! Campaign

The Eagle Creek Park Foundation and the Gilmer Family are working together to bring a shelter and information kiosk to house the Mackenzie statue at the entrance to the bark park.

But your support is urgently needed!

Your generous tax deductible donation toward the installation of the shelter/kiosk will be matched dollar for dollar by the Gilmer Family. In addition to housing Mac, the shelter features a kiosk with bulletin board to post announcements for bark park members. All the proceeds of this campaign will go towards building the structure, preparing the site and installing the Mac statue. Any funds remaining will be placed in an account for the Gilmer Canine Companion Zone. If you have any questions, please contact Meghan Mustin, Meghan@eaglecreekpark.org.

Doug Sherrow Memorial

Friends of longtime park advocate, dedicated volunteer, and passionate steward of Eagle Creek Park, Doug Sherrow, have organized this fundraiser to honor his legacy by installing a concrete pad and an accessible picnic table in his memory. This tribute will provide a welcoming place for visitors of all abilities to gather, reflect, and enjoy the park Doug loved so deeply.

Iron Eagle Amphitheater Project

Proceeds from the race directly support Eagle Creek Park’s Trail Maintenance Fund, helping preserve and improve the trails that thousands of visitors enjoy each year. Thanks to race participants and supporters, the fund helped build a new bridge on the Orange Trail in 2023—a bridge you’ll cross during the race!

In 2026, the Iron Eagle Committee is investing race proceeds into the next major improvement: renovating the amphitheater and the Red Trail behind the Earth Discovery Center. These enhancements will create a safer, more sustainable, and more accessible trail experience for runners, hikers, and park visitors alike. With Phase 1 completed in July 2025, your participation will help make the next phase of this exciting project possible.

Run the race. Support the park. Leave a lasting legacy.

Can’t join us on race day but still want to make a difference? You can support these trail improvements with a donation to Eagle Creek Park’s Trail Maintenance Fund. Every contribution helps create safer, more sustainable trails and outdoor spaces for the entire community.
