When school’s out for summer, children ages 4–15 can participate in Eagle Creek Park’s summer day camps and choose from a number of outdoor activities that will peak their interest in nature! Every June and July, the Earth Discovery Center and Ornithology Center offer over a dozen weeklong camps, which includes a range of programs like archery and canoeing to birdwatching. Camps are accredited by the American Camp Association.

All campers should bring a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and change of clothes every day. All except those attending 4–5 year-old camps should bring a sack lunch each day. The park’s gate entry fee is waived for registered campers.

Check out program details here, and sign up through Indy Parks Online with the appropriate course code. You can also register in person or via phone by calling the nature centers. To be added to the summer day camp email list, please contact Leah Frenzel at leah.frenzel@indy.gov, or call 317.327.1196.

“Our future generation relies heavily on technology and doesn’t spend much time just being curious and exploring the unknown. Opportunities to play in the woods in safe and educational ways will have a huge impact on kids — maybe open their eyes up to something they’ve never experienced before.”

–Maggie Jaicomo, Eagle Creek Park Naturalist
