Artist call-out: Eagle Creek Park Foundation in search of woodworkers
INDIANAPOLIS—The Eagle Creek Park Foundation is issuing a call for entries for its most popular art exhibit – the 25th annual “Woodcarver, Woodturner & Woodburner” exhibition, which takes place Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6 at the park’s Earth Discovery Center, 5901 Delong Road.
All entries must depict wildlife, flora and fauna, and/or traditional Native American Indians to help maintain a nature-based theme for the exhibit. Woodwork must utilize natural wood products, and exhibitors are encouraged, but not required, to demonstrate throughout the weekend.
Fifteen percent of proceeds from sales will benefit the Eagle Creek Park Foundation (ECPF), a not-for-profit membership-based organization whose mission is to preserve, protect and enhance Eagle Creek Park—one of the nation’s largest city parks.
Cost to participate is $25. Registration and entry forms are due no later than Friday, Feb. 19.
Exhibit hours will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is free with park admission, which is only $5 a vehicle for those who are not annual Foundation gate pass holders.
